Not everyone wants to be reminded of the fact that Valentine’s day is very much around the corner, for some it brings back happy memories and for others not so happy memories. Sticking to the trend of valentine’s day, let's talk about love but not in the way that you may think. Let’s dive into our relationship with our shoes or the relationship you could have had with your shoes. In the spirit of valentine's day, let's take a trip down memory lane and look at the ‘what-if’s’, the ‘could-have-been’, the ‘Thank you next and the Thank you but can I have more.’ Why have true love when you can have shoe love?
There are always good memories with feisty Maira who always kept you on your toes and loved to keep you going all night long out dancing of course. Simple yet extremely high maintenance in the sense that you should take her out for a very fancy expensive dinner but happiness was to keep you going all night anywhere that had a dance floor and festivities. A natural beauty not needing extras to stand out in a crowd yet her simplicity was very much extra.
NOT SO BORING BRAD
Now Brad kept things interesting, you never knew which Brad you were dealing with but at the end of the day, he was very entertaining to have around. He knew how to make you feel safe and secure but also knew exactly how to take you on an emotional roller coaster depending on which personality he was sporting for the day. Was he feeling purple, neutral or all colours of the rainbow? Which one do you pick to love the most? - so much pressure. Always good memories with Brad, all the brunch dates and dinner parties that you can think of, the perfect match. Or so you thought.
Melina was preppy and she loved a cafe bookstore date but what she did better than drinking coffee and reading poetry was wine tasting. She was a sucker for a full day of wine tasting at any and every wine farm you can think, of well she has been there. Make sure her glass is full of Chardonnay at all times. She was intelligent and knew how to keep your mind stimulated. She was a bookworm and always knew how to have fun. She loved winter-like days but summer just as much, Autumn was her all-time favourite season and had her coat, coffee and a new book on hand. Gosh, what fond memories I have of Melina.
Trevor was just a smart guy all around, he enjoyed a pair of funky socks whenever he got the chance. He enjoyed a fun date at art galleries and museums, he was especially a sucker for history. On some days he would be in a smart outfit very formal and then other days he would wear a quirky pattern that would change his look completely 180. Some may say he was boring but let's agree to disagree as he was an unexpected catch that just did everything right. Trevor loved photography and had an eye for details, he was just terrific.
Simple but always a pop of colour in life. He loved a good time at the beach and lived for a hot summer's day kicking back and relaxing by the pool. You know how that goes he was carefree and as easy-going as can be. Beach days were always a must and picnics became a tradition, he always wanted to be on a holiday and always made you feel like it was a weekend or created the desire to travel to some exotic location where it was summer every day.
Luci truly felt like a gift that kept on giving, always a surprise ready for you and with her luck followed. Truly too fancy for anyone, only a special kind of person to handle all that came with Luci. Loved a shopping spree here and there or maybe more than that but her motto was always if you want it then get it. She was always so competitive with her sisters Tulip and Valenti but we all know she’s the prettiest. She was always in her element in the winter season and simply made everyone just stop and stare at her beauty.
NOT SO JUDGY JOE
Tall dark and handsome enough said..... Just kidding! He always loved countryside road trips and horse riding was kind of his thing. He was comfortable and grew to be quite loveable he was like Simon Basset in Bridgeton but better, not the duke of everyone's dreams but the king. Comfy and convenient he was indeed but very inflexible was he, but that's okay because he was nice to look at.
Jadon was always the most popular and could always stand tall in a crowd. A people pleaser that could do no wrong in anyone’s eyes. A true classic with a twist and always had a fun side, loved a good festival or rave you name it he was there for a good time not a long time. Always loved to go for an edgy and fun time to match his personality, a true free spirit young at heart never really ready to grow-up.
She was super edgy but has a cute side that she tries to hide but just can’t. She was bold and not afraid to show her unique quirkiness. She lived in combat boots, when summer came around she had to compromise from time to time with sandals that made her feel a little less like she was cheating on her boots. She was a true artist in her elements when good tunes were playing and she could be in front of a canvas with her watercolours. She enjoyed thrift shopping and you could find her at any weekend market you can think o, chowing down on some delicious treats. She was super cute!
Chatterbox of note he walked the walk and talked the talk. Different that’s for sure and got along with almost everyone. Some may say he was ordinary but he had layers and was an overall interesting guy. He had no flaws, some could say it was a case of the right one at the wrong time. He made it very comfortable to be around and added a spin to things. A top-notch guy that you could always rely on for anything. A real gem that made for the best travel buddy, his goal was to see the world by throwing a dart on the map. I wonder where he has adventured to next.
